Exhibition
November 15, 2011, 9:34 amMarlborough College and Highgate cemetary
November 1, 2011, 1:05 pm
Its been a while since I posted anything.
Three things seem to be happening...
St Pauls Hammersmith is progressing slowly and theres a new cafe at the end which makes incredible coffee.Ive had a few problems with the crucifixion - particularly with His feet and the levels of darkness but am pushing through.
I am making a bronze monument to go in Highgate cemetary,
and have a show of prodigal bronzes and paintings at Marlborough college for six months.
Im also going to put on a show of drawings at some stage although I need a little chivvying.

Ex foot
October 19, 2010, 4:25 pm
Im writing in the horizontal position, and have been for a month- not writing-just horizontal , due to an accident with a sheet of glass landing on a bare ankle.
It effortlessly cut through flesh and tendons- notably the anterior tibialis- which I never appreciated till now as being the thing that lifts the foot up and down
All these years of walking and dancing, it has humbly and thanklessly done its job.
Now it has gone.
A surgeon sought the ends and the tendon is reunited with itself - leaving me a twelve inch scar and a lot of morphine.
I am not allowed to stand or walk till december- meaning I cant go to St Pauls hammersmith.
This is my news.
Im trying to remain chirpy by doing cartoons.

I d also like to point out while Im in typing mode, that since purchasing the cherry picker I have put on at least half a stone.
I dont think this information is important- but Ive said it now.

Just in case you had added your details to the exhibition mailout list and were wondering why you hadnt been invited- its because I havent had one, yet, but when I do, you ll receive one with bells on. So to speak.
As an antidote to painting the absurdly large triptych Ive taken to doing small drawings. Its a huge relief somehow to do something that doesnt involve climbing all over the place and risking your neck.
I think the show will be called - Small drawings.
Its to the point at least.

cherry picker
July 23, 2010, 4:13 pm
Im still painting the triptych in St Pauls...and have a cherry picking machine. No more swinging from scaffolding twenty feet up and slipping on oil paint at midnight.
Now I just sit , press buttons and elevate which will makes things easier but Ill get fat- or fatter.
It seems Im more interested in the cherry picker than the painting and you are still welcome to come and visit even if its just to admire the machine.

I have realised that Im extremely slow at finishing projects.
Tea and the making of it is largely to blame.

Swamped
May 15, 2010, 6:19 am
I woke this morning to hear my dog trying to climb over some canvases to get onto my bed.She failed.
My house has been taken over by drawings and clutter to the extent that theres no room left for me and my dog/friends/anything else.
On this basis Ive decided to do an exhibition as it would seem logical if only to make room.
I wanted to wait till St Pauls was finished but then again my home has indigestion and I can do another show with St Pauls later.
If youd like to be invited to the show in London just let me know via this site.

Hello..
Im still painting in St Pauls on the scaffolding.
Clearly Im a slow burner.

I really hope to finish the work this year and maybe never have to climb scaffolding again...

Hurrah! Finally I've got it together and am pleased to open my new website. I'll be updating the gallery with more images and information and will be using this journal to share thoughts and news. The work displayed on the site goes back years. You may notice there are no prices on the works but if you are interested in that respect please feel free to contact me.
